An off-duty NYPD cop was robbed at knifepoint and carjacked as he tried to stop two men from breaking into another vehicle in Manhattan this week, according to cops and police sources.

The unidentified 39-year-old officer — who is assigned to the Sixth Precinct and was on vacation at the time — was sitting in his own car on East 35th Street near First Avenue in Murray Hill around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday when he spotted one of the suspects entering a white Chevy Suburban and trying to steal a battery charger pack, authorities said.

The off-duty cop jumped into action and confronted the suspect — who then displayed a dark machete, police said.

Another man who was with him also flashed a dark handgun.

One of the suspects then ordered the officer to get down on the ground before punching him in the head and swiping his wallet, cellphone and car key, according to cops and police sources.

The duo took off in the officer’s red Toyota RAV4, cops said.

The officer did not report any injuries and refused medical attention on scene.
