Charles Barkley found a new way to show off ‘terrible’ golf game

Charles Barkley’s golf game isn’t any better indoors.

During a laughter-filled segment on “Inside the NBA” on Thursday night, Barkley was tasked with having to chip a group of balls into ten open buckets that were set up in a triangle just a few feet away. Barkley had an estimated 45 seconds to complete the challenge.

His lackluster performance caused co-host Kenny Smith to declare Barkley’s golf game as “terrible” while O’Neal burst into laughter.

Following the game, Barkley bent down with his hands on his knees and hung his head in laughter.

Barkley’s labeled sub-par golf game has been well documented through the years.

Despite what critics have to say, Barkley isn’t afraid to put his golf game on public display. He’s a regular competitor at the American Century Celebrity Golf Challenge, where in July 2020, he finished second-to-last in the 70-man field, scoring minus-68 points in the modified Stableford scoring format, according to Golf Digest.

“Let me just say this: I’m not bragging about it, but nobody has worked harder than me to be better at golf,” Barkley told Golf Digest in November 2020, having noted that he’d been working on his golf game for months.

“I have hit balls five hours a day for the last six months,” he said, adding, “I just really wanted to get better at golf.”

Barkley earned some redemption when he teamed with Phil Mickelson to beat Peyton Manning and Steph Curry in a match play event in November.
